• Give Up Self Reliance and Trust

The Course in Miracles says, “Miracles are natural. When they do not occur, something has gone wrong.” (ACIM –T- 1.I.6:2-3)

This isn’t just a nice saying, it’s reality. If you say, “Well, it’s not my reality!”, then something has gone wrong. That something is you’ve put yourself in charge of your life, your business, and your perceptions. In a nutshell, you’ve been identifying with your small self versus the Great Self that resides within you.
The key to changing your perception is trust. Trust is the cornerstone to identifying with your Spirit. When you begin to trust, what you are really saying is, “I deny anything not of Love to hold any power over me.” Trust the Power more than the problem.
Do not try to control your circumstances. Instead, defer everything to God, the Universe, your Higher Self under His/Her/Its care and protection.
“Miracles are habits and should be involuntary. They should not be under conscious control. Consciously selected miracles can be misguided.” ACIM p. 3
Power comes from a source Higher than this world. Read that as another dimension. If you want a 3 dimensional experience, stay in the reality you see. But if you want to experience a dimension that transcends time and space, then begin identifying with the Higher Self within you.
How do you so this? You start by:
    • Getting quiet
    • Opening your heart (this means becoming defenseless in the presence of Something Greater – however you best do that, through nature, reading material, prayer, looking at beauty, meditation)
    • Asking, “Show me the truth of this situation.”
    • Expect an answer and wait until you receive something – a feeling, words, image, an awareness
    • Trust what you receiveit is having the experience that builds faith
This is what real faith is. It’s the capacity to join with your Source and give up self-reliance.
